Ex-boyfriend of Cain accuser to tell his story at press conference
The former boyfriend of Sharon Bialek, the woman who accused Republican presidential candidate Herman Cain of sexual harassing her while she was seeking career advice, will hold a press conference with Bialek’s attorney, Gloria Allred, Monday afternoon.
Bialek said last week that Cain met both her and her then-boyfriend at a conference in Chicago in 1997, and that she had told her boyfriend about an alleged groping incident soon after it reportedly occurred. The man had previously decided to stay anonymous, but had signed an affidavit affirming Bialek’s story.
Cain has flatly denied Bialek’s allegations, saying that he did not remember having ever met her.
{mosads}”The charges and the accusations I absolutely reject. They simply didn’t happen,” Cain said at a press conference last week. He went on to call Bialek “troubled” and denounce the involvement of Allred, who has been involved in many high-profile and celebrity court cases.
Cain’s wife, Gloria, also spoke for the first time about the allegations in an interview set to air Monday evening on Fox.
“You hear the graphic allegations and we know that would have been something that’s totally disrespectful of her as a woman,” Gloria Cain said. “And I know the type of person he is. He totally respects women.”
The press conference is set for 2 p.m. ET in Shreveport, La.
