Ready for Hillary rents Clinton’s former campaign email list
The group working to draft Hillary Clinton to run for president rented out the email list from Clinton’s failed 2008 presidential campaign, CNN reported.
{mosads}The group, Ready For Hillary, used the list to send an email from former General Wesley Clark, a Clinton supporter, asking for donations because the former secretary of State “needs our support” as she decides on a presidential run.
The group told CNN it rented the list to connect with past supporters. The group said it had its biggest online fundraising day after renting the list.
The news outlet notes that Ready For Hillary is not technically coordinating with the campaign, because Clinton has not yet publicly decided whether she will run for president in 2016.
Clinton is the clear front-runner for the Democratic nomination and is expected to enter the race. She has said she will make a decision sometime this year.
The super-PAC has a number of former and current lawmakers encouraging Clinton to enter the race.
