Rand Paul: Feud with Christie ‘under the bridge’

Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.) said his feud with Chris Christie is water ‘under the bridge” — an apparent jab at the bridge scandal that engulfed the New Jersey governor’s administration. 

“Oh, no, no. We’re all one big happy family now. It’s all under the bridge,” Paul said about their feud on Fox News Wednesday night. 

{mosads}Sean Hannity, the host, asked: “It’s all under the bridge? No pun intended?”

“We are all getting together now,” Paul continued. “We’re going to be a big happy party, I think.”

Paul also joked earlier this month about the scandal in which emails tied staffers in Christie’s administration to the closure of lanes on the George Washington Bridge last year, which halted traffic in apparent political retribution on a local mayor. 

“I know how angry I am when I’m in traffic,” he said at the time. Adding, “I’m always wondering who did this to me.”

The two potential presidential candidates have tangled in the past regarding national surveillance and government spending. Paul has questioned Christie’s ability to attract primary voters in early nominating states as well. 

The Kentucky senator eventually tried to end the tiff over beers last year, which Christie said he was too busy to make time for.
