Rogen most wants to toke up with Harkin

Seth Rogen would like to smoke pot with Sen. Tom Harkin (D-Iowa) more than any other senator.

Rogen gave the response on Thursday, a day after he testified in front of Harkin’s committee about Alzheimer’s disease.

{mosads}“That Harkin guy seemed pretty cool. I’d go with him,” Rogen said when asked by ABC which politician he would most want to smoke with.

Harkin’s office didn’t respond for a comment.

The comedy actor has written and starred in numerous movies in which the characters smoke copious amounts of marijuana. The film “Pineapple Express,” starring Rogen, is titled after a particular strain of the drug used in the movie.

Harkin, the chairman of the committee that heard Rogen’s testimony, was one of the few members who sat in to listen to the actor.

Harkin joked it would likely be the first time the term “Knocked Up” would be entered into the congressional record — referring to another movie Rogen starred in.

Rogen peppered his heartfelt testimony about his mother-in-law’s struggle with the Alzheimer’s disease with a number of jokes about his drug use.

“I should first answer a question I assume many of you are asking, Yes, I’m aware this has nothing to do with the legalization of marijuana. In fact, if you can believe it, this concerns something that I find even more important,” he said in his remarks.

Recent polling has shown marijuana legalization holds support with a narrow majority of the public.

At another point Rogen added: “The situation [with Alzheimer’s] is so dire that it caused me, a lazy, self-involved, generally self-medicated man-child to start an entire charity organization.”

Rogan on Wednesday complained about the lack of senators who attended his testimony in the Senate Appropriations subcommittee on Labor, Heath and Human Services and Education. And he noted others seemed to be dozing off.

Ranking member Sen. Jerry Moran (R-Kan.) was the only other senator in attendance besides Harkin.
