Doctor says Sen. Kirk recovery progressing, could lose some motor function

{mosads}On Saturday Kirk suffered an ischemic stroke, and had to have surgery on Monday to relieve swelling in the brain as a result. Fessler said that Kirk would probably lose some motor function on the left side of his body, and on Tuesday said that Kirk was having slight trouble controlling the left side of his face. 

Fessler said Tuesday his mental functions would likely not be impaired, and estimated that Kirk’s recovery will take place over a matter of weeks or months.
