Christie’s tax returns show income jump

New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie (R) and his wife reported roughly $700,000 in income last year in their tax returns, revealing a sizable jump from the previous year.

The returns show that the Christies made $698,838 in 2013, the Associated Press reports.

Mary Pat, the governor’s wife, has consistently earned the most income in the family. She is the director at Angelo, Gordon & Co., an investment advising firm.

Christie, a potential 2016 Republican presidential candidate, has joked about the gap in income between him and his wife in the past.
