New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie (R) and his wife reported roughly $700,000 in income last year in their tax returns, revealing a sizable jump from the previous year.
The returns show that the Christies made $698,838 in 2013, the Associated Press reports.
{mosads}That’s $200,000 more than $478,977 they brought in in 2012. About $193,510 of that they paid in federal and state taxes, according to records.
Mary Pat, the governor’s wife, has consistently earned the most income in the family. She is the director at Angelo, Gordon & Co., an investment advising firm.
Christie, a potential 2016 Republican presidential candidate, has joked about the gap in income between him and his wife in the past.
