Edwards trial witness list includes daughter, mistress
{mosads}Jury selection in the trial began Thursday. According to Raleigh’s The News & Observer, more than 100 potential jurors received preliminary instructions and will be considered as part of the panel that will weigh Edwards’s fate. Attorneys expect to begin questioning jurors Tuesday.
This is not a case about whether Mr. Edwards is a good husband or a good politician,” judge Catherine Eagles said in her opening remarks. “But this is a case about whether Mr. Edwards violated campaign law.”
Each of the six charges Edwards faces carries a maximum five-year prison term and a potential $250,000 fine.
