Daniels warns Romney on negative campaigning

Daniels then took a pause and continued, “Romney doesn’t talk that way.”

“You don’t change one thing about the policies you advocate or your principles,” Daniels added.

Daniels publicly endorsed Romney the day before, although when the governor announced his support, he joked “it must be a slow news day” for the media to pay attention.

“He’s already won our nomination, he earned it. He’s proven himself the best nominee we could put forward,” Daniels told Fox News then.

Daniels also pushed back against speculation Romney might pick him as a vice presidential candidate.

“Well it won’t happen so we won’t take the audience’s time with it, but I’ll be glad to be a No. 22 or wherever I can fit in in terms of supporting a winning campaign,” Daniels said.
