Limbaugh: GOP has ‘incredible’ mandate
Conservative radio host Rush Limbaugh on Wednesday said the “skunking” of Democrats in the midterm elections has given Republicans an “incredible” mandate to oppose President Obama.
“The Republican Party now has one of the most important and unquestionable mandates a political party has ever had,” Limbaugh said on his radio show.
“The national Republican brand or image didn’t say a word, which makes the mandate that they have all the more incredible,” he added.
{mosads}The popular conservative radio host slammed Republicans who say voters want them to govern and look for compromises with Democrats.
“This election was about stopping the losers — in this case, the Democrats,” Limbaugh said. He warned that if Republicans do not “admit why they were elected … this is all going to be for naught.”
Republicans easily captured the Senate on Tuesday and delivered major blows to Democrats in House and gubernatorial races across the country, exceeding most expectations.
Limbaugh said the message from voters was clear.
“Yesterday’s results cannot in any way mean that voters want Republicans to work with Democrats,” Limbaugh said. “The Republican Party is ‘the other guys.’ “
