White House Christmas tree arrives
First lady Michelle Obama, daughters Malia and Sasha and family dogs Bo and Sunny welcomed the White House Christmas on Friday.
The 20-foot white fir, from a Pennsylvania tree farm, arrived in a horse-drawn wagon and was hauled up the driveway to the North Portico.
The first lady, her daughters and two dogs inspected the tree and smelled it as they circled the wagon: “We’re taking the tree,” Obama said.
The White House Christmas tree will be trimmed in the Blue Room, where it will stand throughout the holiday season.
