All clear signal given at White House after suspicious package
Streets around the White House were briefly closed on Tuesday morning because of an unattended package in neighboring Lafayette Park.
{mosads}Security later gave the all clear signal, after the area was deemed safe. The package caused a lockdown of the White House’s North Lawn.
Local D.C. police were dispatched to evaluate the package, a Secret Service spokesman said, and the northern fence line was locked down as a part of standard procedure. During that time, the park and the streets around it were closed, The Washington Post reported.
The White House was also locked down last week, when a small recreational drone crashed on to the grounds of the executive mansion.
