GOP rep: Obama a ‘failure’ on foreign policy
Rep. Elise Stefanik (R-N.Y.) this weekend blasted President Obama’s handling of Iran and Cuba.
“President Obama’s greatest failure is his failure regarding foreign policy and national security,” Stefanik said in an interview aired Sunday on “The Cats Roundtable” with John Catsimatidis in New York.
{mosads}She cited the Obama administration’s moves with Cuba and for a deal over Iran’s nuclear program.
“I think this administration and President Obama have prioritized our relationships with our adversaries over our allies,” said Stefanik, a member of the House Armed Services Committee.
“There’s more chaos in the world today than at any point in my lifetime,” added Stefanik, 30, who last year became the youngest woman ever elected to Congress.
Obama was in Panama this weekend for a “historic meeting” with Cuban leader Raúl Castro, where the pair met up in a show of thawing diplomatic relations between their two countries.
Republicans and some Democrats have criticized Obama’s moves to normalize relations with Cuba, as well as his push with leaders of five world powers to secure a deal over Iran’s nuclear program.
