An individual allegedly scaled a fence at the White House on Sunday, according to CNN.
The person reportedly climbed over a fence on the south side of the White House complex while carrying a suspicious package. The package was later found to be harmless, CNN reported.

Charges are reportedly pending against the individual, whom authorities have not identified.
The Secret Service has been dealing with allegations in recent months that it has failed to adequately secure the White House grounds.
Last year, a man managed to scale the fence and make it into the executive mansion. That incident, compounded by several others and revelations about earlier security lapses, led to the resignation of then-Secret Service Director Julia Pierson.
More recently, two Secret Service officials allegedly interrupted an active bomb investigation while returning to the White House after an event where they had been drinking.
