US strike kills top al Qaeda commander
A top al Qaeda commander has been killed by a U.S. strike, an American official told CNN on Thursday.
Nasr Ibn Ali al-Ansi held a senior role within the terror group’s operation in Yemen, called al Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula. Al-Ansi made the claim that the terror group was responsible for the attack on the French satirical magazine Charlie Hebdo that killed 12 people.
{mosads}”Stop your insults on our prophet and sanctities,” al-Ansi said in the message, referencing the magazine’s cartoons of the Muslim Prophet Muhammad.
“We are preparing and lurking for the enemies of Allah. We incite the believers to do that.”
CBS News reports al-Ansi was killed in April by a CIA drone strike, but the White House did not comment on the reports.
