McConnell loves turtle comparisons

Sen. Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) says he’s not offended by jokes that compare him to a turtle.

{mosads}“I loved it,” McConnell said in response to a question about how he feels when “The Daily Show” host Jon Stewart likens him to a turtle.

In an interview with CNBC’s John Harwood, McConnell pointed to his reelection win by a double-digit margin in last year’s midterms.

He also jabbed at the political comedian, who is set to step down from the Comedy Central show later this year and has challenged the top Republican to prove he is not the green-shelled creature.

“I’ve been elected to the position I hold now by my colleagues unanimously,” he said of his position as Senate majority leader. “It’s nice to be approved [of] by the people that count.”
