Sunday shows preview: Latest on Amtrak crash

 
An official from the agency investigating the fatal derailment of an Amtrak train outside Philadelphia will appear on four Sunday political talk shows this week.
 
Robert Sumwalt, who has been a public face of the National Transportation Safety Board’s inquiry into the incident, will appear on ABC’s “This Week,” NBC’s “Meet the Press,” CBS’ “Face the Nation” and “Fox News Sunday.”
 
{mosads}In addition, four of the five shows will feature 2016 presidential candidates, including Sens. Rand Paul (R-Ky.), Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) and Marco Rubio (R-Fla.) and Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker (R).
 
Other topics to be discussed include the debate over President Obama’s trade authority and the reauthorization of the parts of the Patriot Act that allow for the bulk collection of metadata.
 
Here’s who you’ll hear from on Sunday morning:
 
NBC’s “Meet the Press”: Paul will discuss his presidential campaign, Florida Gov. Jeb Bush’s comments on the invasion of Iraq and the debate over the reauthorization of provisions in the Patriot Act. Sen. Cory Booker (D-N.J.) and the NTSB’s Sumwalt will appear to discuss the Amtrak crash.
 
ABC’s “This Week”: Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) will headline the show as the upper chamber looks to tackle the Patriot Act, trade and the highway trust fund — all before Memorial Day weekend. Sumwalt will also appear, as will former CIA Deputy Director Michael Morrell.
 
CBS’s “Face the Nation”: Walker will talk about his recent trip to Israel and major policy issues. Rep. Devin Nunes (R-Calif.), chair of the House Intelligence Committee, will speak with host Bob Schieffer, as well former Secretary of Defense Robert Gates. Sumwalt and Sen. Bob Casey (D-N.J.) will discuss the crash.
 
CNN’s “State of the Union”: In addition to Sanders, the show will host Rep. Paul Ryan (R-Wis.), who will discuss trade, Amtrak’s funding and the presidential campaign.
 
“Fox News Sunday”: Rubio will talk foreign policy after a week that saw him deliver a major foreign policy speech. Washington, D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser will discuss her tenure in the Wilson Building so far. Sumwalt will also appear.
