Jon Stewart mocks Trump

Comedian Jon Stewart mocked Donald Trump on Tuesday evening for thinking he can win the White House next year.

“Apparently, Huckabee and Santorum weren’t far-fetched enough,” Stewart quipped on “The Tonight Show,” taunting the GOP presidential candidacies of Trump, former Gov. Mike Huckabee (Ark.) and former Sen. Rick Santorum (Pa.)

Trump officially launched his bid for the Republican nomination on Tuesday from New York City’s Trump Tower.

Stewart poked fun at the wealthy businessman later that evening over the comedic potential his campaign holds.

“I’m just really happy right now,” “The Daily Show” host quipped, then calling Trump a “billionaire vanity candidate.”

“And what followed was over half-an-hour of the most beautifully ridiculous jibber-jabber ever to pour forth from the mouth of a batsh*t billionaire,” he said of Trump’s announcement speech.

Stewart additionally thanked Trump for running right before he steps down from his hosting gig.

The popular comedian plans on leaving “The Daily Show” in August after 16 years performing on the broadcast.

“Thank you Donald Trump for making my last six weeks my best six weeks,” Stewart said. “He is putting me in some kind of comedy hospice where all I’m getting is great morphine.”

Trump has long teased making a run at the Oval Office.

He previously passed on a bid in 2012 before formally entering next year’s election cycle.

Funnyman Stephen Colbert also predicted on Tuesday evening that late-night television performers would get plenty of material off Trump’s bid.

“Donald Trump’s campaign for president of the United States is not just great for America, it is great for late-night television,” the former host of “The Colbert Report” said.

“This will be the finest, most luxurious, gold-plated, diamond-encrusted campaign that will give hope to a weary nation until together we reach that fine fall day when a new season of ‘Celebrity Apprentice’ premieres,” Colbert quipped, referencing Trump’s long-time reality TV series.

Colbert left his popular “Colbert Report” broadcast last December. He will next serve as the host of CBS’s “The Late Show” starting in September.

The comedian couldn’t resist lampooning Trump’s young campaign on Tuesday evening despite currently lacking an official platform for his performances.
