Ann Romney to appear on ‘Tonight Show’ Tuesday

{mosads}The wife of the GOP presidential nominee chose “The Tonight Show with Jay Leno” for her first late-night TV interview, which is set to air on NBC Sept. 25.

Until now, Ann Romney has appeared mainly on morning news shows, a contrast to first lady Michelle Obama, who has appeared on Leno’s show three times in addition to regular appearances on daytime talk shows.

Mitt Romney has appeared on Leno’s show in the past, and in the recent revealed video taped during Romney’s speech to a private Florida fundraiser in May, he said CBS’s “Late Show” host David Letterman hates him because he’s been on Leno’s show so often.

“I’ve been on ‘Letterman’ a couple of times,” Romney said in the video. “I’ve been on ‘Leno’ more than a couple times, and now Letterman hates me because I’ve been on ‘Leno’ more than him. They’re very jealous of one another, as you know.”

Letterman on Wednesday night’s show said that’s not so.

“I don’t hate Mitt,” he said. “I think now more than ever he and his lovely wife, Mrs. Mitt, are more than welcome to come on the show. If you think you’re going to get to the White House, you’ve got to spend time in this chair.”
