White House extends condolences after deadly explosion in China
The White House is offering its condolences after a deadly blast rocked a Chinese port city.
{mosads}“At this time of tragedy, the United States extends its heartfelt condolences to the Chinese people over the deadly explosion that occurred on August 12 in Tianjin,” National Security Council spokesman Ned Price said in the statement.
“Our thoughts are with the victims and their families, and with China’s first responders who are working to help those who were injured.”
The death toll from Wednesday’s explosion at a warehouse said to have contained “dangerous and chemical goods” have climbed to over 50, officials said Thursday. More than 500 people have been hospitalized.
