Murdoch backs Bush on taxes

The rest of the GOP presidential field should follow Jeb Bush’s tax plan, according to Rupert Murdoch.

“Jeb Bush’s tax proposals substantive and attractive to all,” Murdoch tweeted on Thursday.  “Growth only answer to jobs, stronger America.”

{mosads}“Others note and adopt or debate,” he added of other Republican White House hopefuls competing with Bush.

Bush unveiled his comprehensive tax plan on Wednesday during a campaign stop in North Carolina.

The former Florida governor argued his plan would spur 4 percent economic growth nationwide. He also said his policies would help people in every conceivable tax bracket.

“My plan works whether you’re on Main Street or Wall Street,” the former Florida governor added. “No special favors. No special breaks. Fixing the tax code will take constant attention and effort.”

Murdoch also praised Bush for elaborating on his plan’s specifics during a coordinated Wall Street Journal op-ed on Wednesday.

“Terrific piece by Jeb Bush in today’s WSJ on kicking economy into 4 percent growth,” he tweeted.

“Making more and better jobs for all,” the news tycoon added. “Two years away.”

Bush’s plan focuses on rolling back multiple tax breaks while lowering rates for individuals and corporations.

Murdoch isn’t shy about offering his feelings on presidential politics. He earned headlines earlier this week by predicting that Vice President Biden would become the Democratic presidential nominee and saying he’d be hard for a Republican to beat.

Bush’s tax proposal comes as he seeks to win voter support from Donald Trump, who displaced Bush this summer to become the GOP front-runner in the polls.

Trump leads the Republican primary with 29.8 percent, followed by retired neurosurgeon Ben Carson at 16 percent and Bush at 8.3 percent, according to the latest RealClearPolitics average of national polls.
