Trump’s 9/11 ‘haters and losers’ tweet vanishes

A Twitter message sent two years ago on the anniversary of the September 11, 2001 attacks by Donald Trump, now a Republican presidential candidate, vanished on Friday.

“I would like to extend my best wishes to all, even the haters and losers, on this special date, September 11th,” read the 2013 tweet, which was removed Friday morning.

Trump retweeting the tweet that day remains on the businessman’s account: 

“@realDonaldTrump: I would like to extend my best wishes to all, even the haters and losers, on this special date, September 11th.”

Asked why the tweet was removed, Trump spokeswoman Hope Hicks told multiple media outlets, “It is from several years ago.”

The tweet garnered renewed attention Friday on the 14th anniversary of 9/11.
