A school resource officer has been placed on leave after an incident at Spring Valley High School in Columbia, S.C., where the officer aggressively confronted a student after she refused to leave her classroom, according to WLTX

Authorities in Richland County, S.C., are investigating the incident, according to local station WIS-TV

{mosads}Video footage, recorded by someone in the classroom, shows a white officer approaching a black female student sitting at a desk. The officer grabs the student and flips the girl and her desk on the floor. The officer then drags the student from her desk, pins her to the ground and tells her to put her hands behind her back.

“The student was told she was under arrest for disturbing school and given instructions which she again refused,” Sheriff Leon Lott told WIS-TV. “The video then shows the student resisting and being arrested by the SRO.”
