Sunday shows preview: Clinton and Trump headline
The front-runners from the two parties’ presidential primaries will each appear on Sunday shows this week, just three weeks before the first votes are cast.
Democrat Hillary Clinton will field questions about the latest batch of emails that were released from her private server Friday.
{mosads}The former secretary of State appeared in one email to order her aide to send a “secure fax” through an “unsecure channel.”
Republican Donald Trump will be on several shows in taped interviews.
The White House will also mobilize Chief of Staff Dennis McDonough, who will make three appearances just days before President Obama’s final State of the Union address.
Several other 2016 candidates will also make appearances.
Here are the rest of Sunday’s expected guests:
ABC’s “This Week”: Republican presidential candidate Marco Rubio will defend his Senate voting record in the face of absenteeism charges.
McDonough will also appear on the program, followed by Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.).
CBS’ “Face the Nation”: Clinton headlines the program to discuss whether she ordered a subordinate to send sensitive information through an “unsecure” channel, followed by a taped interview with House Speaker Paul Ryan (R-Wis.).
New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie and Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.), who are both seeking the Republican presidential nomination, round out the crowded line-up.
CNN’s “State of the Union”: Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) will be on the show to address concerns that his Canadian birth disqualifies him from higher office, followed by McDonough.
“Fox News Sunday”: A taped interview with Trump will air, followed by another appearance from McDonough. Trump will also make an appearance on Fox News’ “Sunday Morning Features.”
NBC’s “Meet the Press”: Trump headlines the program in his second taped interview of the day, followed once again by McDonough.
Two top Republican strategists, Alex Castellanos and Ben Ginsberg, will also be on to weigh in on the 2016 race.
