Trump breaks Twitter silence after loss

Donald Trump finally posted a tweet late Tuesday morning following an unprecedented 15 hours of Twitter silence after being upset in the Iowa caucuses by Republican presidential rival Ted Cruz.

“My experience in Iowa was a great one. I started out with all of the experts saying I couldn’t do well there and ended up in 2nd place. Nice,” the celebrity real estate tycoon tweeted before launching into a tweetstorm.

{mosads}Trump regularly uses his Twitter account, with nearly 6 million followers, to go after his political and business foes, as well as to send numerous tweets a day boasting about his poll numbers.

He offered a measured speech Monday night congratulating Cruz after the Texas senator took 28 percent of the vote compared to Trump’s 24 percent. Marco Rubio took 23 percent for third place.
