Todd Palin broke multiple ribs in snowmobile crash

Todd Palin suffered eight fractured ribs and other injuries in his snowmachine crash that prompted wife Sarah Palin to cut short her Florida trip Monday campaigning for Donald Trump.

Todd Palin’s father disclosed those details to The Associated Press for a story published late Monday, calling the crash about 70 miles north of the Palin’s hometown of Wasilla “one of those freak accidents.”

{mosads}Sarah Palin, former governor of Alaska, posted early Tuesday on Facebook that her husband was in intensive care at a hospital in Alaska, saying he also suffered a broken shoulder blade, broken clavicle and collapsed lung, in addition to multiple broken and fractured ribs. She also said he was back in surgery to repair multiple fractures.

“Knowing Todd, once he’s cognizant, he’ll probably ask docs to duct tape him up and he’ll call it good. He’s tough,” Palin wrote.

“He’s a tough cookie,” echoed Trump, who was campaigning with the 2008 vice presidential nominee in Florida on the eve of that state’s primary, during a phone interview on “Fox and Friends” Tuesday morning.

Trump raised eyebrows Monday with a joke at a campaign rally suggesting to the former Alaska governor that she “forget about Todd, especially now.”
One Trump event in Florida was canceled abruptly as news of the snow machine accident emerged. Sarah Palin dropped by another in Tampa to speak before returning home on Monday.
