White House petition calls for Joe Biden reality show

{mosads}The White House’s “We the People” website has been employed for both practical requests and practical jokes since being launched in September 2011. Users successfully petitioned for the release of the White House beer recipe in September of last year, and in November, voters in some states circulated petitions calling for their states to secede from the union following President Obama’s reelection.

If the petition earns 25,000 signatures in the next calendar month, the White House promises an official response.

Biden has seen a surge in interest since his increasingly prominent roles brokering the “fiscal cliff” deal with Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) and his appointment to head the president’s commission on gun violence. On Thursday, C-SPAN aired the vice president’s colorful swearing-in ceremony on Capitol Hill, where he greeted — and flirted with — newly elected Senators and their families.

Biden joked to Sen. Heidi Heitkamp’s (D-N.D.) husband that he was “going to be frisked” when a photographer ordered him to drop his hands; he later joked to the elderly mother of Sen. John Barrasso (R-Wy.) he was going to “ruin your reputation here” before embracing her in a hug.
