Woman who led Trump Tower construction supports Clinton

The former head of the construction of Trump Tower in New York said she would support Democratic front-runner Hillary Clinton over presumptive GOP nominee Donald Trump, Buzzfeed News reported.

“Oh absolutely not, I’m a Hillary gal,” Barbara Res said when asked about if she would support Trump.

{mosads}Res worked for Trump from 1978 to 1996, and in 2013 published an autobiography “All Alone on the 68th Floor” about her time in the construction industry.

Trump has mentioned during the campaign that he put women in charge of construction projects, though he has not mentioned Res by name. Res said that at the time she worked for Trump, she thought he liked to have women working with him and didn’t discriminate against women.

But as Trump became more successful, Res said he changed.

She predicted if the general election is between Trump and Clinton, it would be a Clinton victory.

“There are a lot of things that people have been saying about Clinton, including Bernie Sanders, which are not absolutely right and I think in time those things will go away.”

But what won’t go away, she said, is the fact that the people who dislike Trump “really don’t like him.”

“He’s got a lot of supporters but he’s got more, more, more detractors and I don’t think — he’s never been in politics before. He has no executive experience. I mean, his candidacy is unheard of. It’s testimony to his being able to promote himself that he’s gotten as far as he has,” she said.

“So I think it’s a Clinton victory.”
