U.S and South Korean officials announced that North Korea test-fired two ballistic missiles on Wednesday, U.S. Strategic Command (USSTRATCOM) confirmed.

The agency detected and tracked two North Korean missile launches over the Sea of Japan, “where initial indications are they fell,” according to a release from the agency.

State Department spokesman John Kirby said that the U.S. condemned the test and that the matter would be raised with the United Nations to “bolster international resolve in holding the DPRK accountable for these provocative actions.”

The missiles that were fired are likely Musudans that are capable of reaching U.S. bases in Japan and Guam. The rogue nation has test-fired the missiles four times this year, though none were successful.
