Obama declares his bracket ‘busted’

President Obama admitted Wednesday afternoon that early-round upsets took a toll on his 2013 Final Four bracket.

“Busted,” Obama said when asked how his picks were performing following a swearing-in ceremony for new Secret Service Director Julie Pierson.

Vice President Joe Biden interrupted to note that the University of Delaware’s women’s team had won the evening before, upsetting the University of North Carolina. Biden attended the game, standing and cheering for his alma mater through much of the proceedings.

{mosads}“I think my women’s bracket’s done much better than my men’s bracket,” Obama said.

While the president, like many tournament fans, did not pick 15-seed Florida Gulf Coast or Cindarellas Wichita State and LaSalle to make the Sweet Sixteen, seven of the president’s Elite Eight teams are still alive.

And the president’s entire Final Four — Louisville, Florida, Ohio State, and his predicted champion, Indiana — are all still in the single-elimination tournament.
