Dennis Rodman plans return to North Korea

Despite escalating tensions and near-daily threats of war, former NBA superstar Dennis Rodman says he will travel back to North Korea to “have some fun.”

“We have no plans really, as far as what we’re going to do over there, but we’ll just hang and have some fun!” Rodman told GossipExtra.com.

The former NBA player traveled to North Korea earlier this year with the Harlem Globetrotters as part of an HBO documentary series. He met leader Kim Jong Un at a basketball game and attended a party at the dictator’s palace.

{mosads}Rodman told the gossip website he was not concerned over Kim’s threats of war with the United States and South Korea.

“The Russians were way out there, and they were acting on their threats,” Rodman said. “He just wants to be loved. He just wants to sit down and talk. That’s all.”

Rodman told ABC News last month that the North Korean Leader had asked President Obama to call him. The White House responded by saying the North Korean regime should focus on improving the lives of its own people rather than hosting “celebrity sporting events.”

“Instead of spending money on celebrity sporting events to entertain the elites of that country, the North Korean regime should focus on the well-being of its own people who have been starved, imprisoned, and denied their human rights,” White House press secretary Jay Carney said.

In the interview published over the weekend, Rodman says he hopes to meet with Obama before traveling to North Korea.
