The U.S. has reportedly agreed to a new military aid deal with Israel, the largest bilateral agreement of its kind in U.S. history.
{mosads}Under the deal, beginning in fiscal year 2019, the U.S. will send $38 billion in military aid to Israel over 10 years, according to the Associated Press.
The State Department told the AP that the agreement would be signed on Wednesday in a ceremony in the agency’s Treaty Room.
The $3.8 billion in annual payments that Israel will receive is up from the $3.1 billion that the U.S. was paying under the previous agreement.
The deal will eventually require Israel to use the funds to buy exclusively from American military vendors, a stipulation that has been a sticking point for both sides over months of negotiations.
According to the report, Israel has also agreed not to request additional funds that are not included under the agreement.
