Chelsea Clinton slams Trump’s ‘deeply troubling’ attacks
Chelsea Clinton late Wednesday declined to respond directly to jabs from Donald Trump aimed at her family, instead turning to slam the Republican presidential nominee’s attacks on “so many Americans.”
“I don’t remember a time in my life when my family wasn’t being attacked,” Clinton said on “Late Night” when host Seth Meyers raised the issue.
{mosads}”What feels different about this election to me is I just don’t remember a time when so many Americans were being attacked by a major-party’s presidential nominee,” she continued.
“I mean, the attacks against women, against immigrants, against minorities, against the LGBT community, against Americans with disabilities, against the Gold Star family,” Clinton said.
The former first daughter called the attacks “deeply troubling.”
Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton has been taking fire for her own attacks on the populace after referring to half of Trump’s supporters as a “basket of deplorables.”
Trump credited himself for not going personal in his first debate against Clinton last week.
The GOP nominee said he was prepared to address former President Bill Clinton’s sexual history but didn’t because Chelsea Clinton was sitting in the audience and he “thought it would be too disrespectful.”
While the candidate didn’t raise the topic in the debate itself, Trump’s surrogates spent days indirectly bringing up the former president’s past infidelity while crediting Trump for not discussing it.
