Obama to celebrate with Cleveland Cavaliers at White House
LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers are coming to the White House next week.
President Obama will host the reigning NBA champions next Thursday, two days after the Nov. 8 elections, the White House announced Friday.
{mosads}Obama invited the Cavaliers to celebrate at 1600 Pennsylvania Ave. in June after they overcame a 3-1 deficit to knock off the defending champion Golden State Warriors in the NBA Finals.
“We’re definitely going to do that,” Cavs head coach Tyronn Lue told the president during a phone call at the time. “If it’s preseason or whatever, we’re going to schedule it so we can come while you’re in the White House for sure.”
Although he’s a fan of the rival Chicago Bulls, Obama appeared to be riveted by the Cavs’ first-ever title run. The president remained on Air Force One with his family after a trip to Yosemite National Park to watch the end of Game 7.
