George Bush to release a book of wounded veteran portraits

Former President George W. Bush will release a book that features his portraits of wounded veterans who served while he was commander in chief.

“Over the past several months, I’ve painted the portraits of 98 wounded warriors I’ve gotten to know – remarkable men and women who were injured carrying out my orders,” the former president said in a Facebook post that included an image of himself painting.

{mosads}”I think about them on #VeteransDay and every day. Their paintings and stories will be featured in PORTRAITS OF COURAGE – a book and special exhibit – next spring,” Bush added.

The 43rd U.S. president also added that he will donate all the proceeds to his presidential center and his Military Service Initiative.

“I am donating all my proceeds to the George W. Bush Presidential Center and our Military Service Initiative’s work to honor and support them,” he wrote.

The book is slated to be released Feb. 28, with a cloth-bound version signed by Bush available.
