Megyn Kelly says Roger Ailes, the former Fox News CEO, harassed her, tried to kiss her and suggested he would not renew her contract when she rejected his advances.
{mosads}”He tried to kiss me three times, and so I rejected that and when I rejected that, he asked me when my contract was up,” the Fox News anchor said on “Good Morning America” Tuesday.
Kelly said she reported the harassment to a supervisor, who only encouraged the “Kelly File” host to stay away from Ailes.
“Which is what I did,” Kelly said.
Ailes resigned as chairman and chief executive of the Fox News Channel in July following allegations of sexual harassment from a former anchor for the network.
Fox, on behalf of Ailes, settled with Gretchen Carlson for $20 million in September.
Kelly detailed Ailes’s harassment in her new book, “Settle for More.”
Not long after she was hired as a reporter in the Fox News Washington Bureau, Ailes began harassing her, she wrote.
She said the pattern became more extreme in January 2006, when he allegedly attempted to grab her and kiss her.
Ailes has denied Kelly’s allegations.
“I categorically deny the allegations Megyn Kelly makes about me. I worked tirelessly to promote and advance her career, as Megyn herself admitted to Charlie Rose. Watch that interview and then decide for yourself,” Ailes said in a statement to the The Washington Post.
“My attorneys have restricted me from commenting further — so suffice it to say that no good deed goes unpunished.”
