Trump says he’ll announce Supreme Court pick ‘very soon’
President-elect Donald Trump said on Thursday that he would soon be unveiling his Supreme Court nomination.
{mosads}In an interview on Fox News’s “Hannity,” Trump said he’s down to “three or four” candidates.
“They are terrific people,” he said, according to a transcript of the interview. “Highly respected. Brilliant people and we’ll be announcing that pretty soon.”
Trump also touted his meetings with Mitt Romney, who is rumored to be a leading candidate for secretary of State.
“It was good,” Trump said of the meetings. “We got along very well. He was very nice in terms of his remarks afterwards. And I think it was very good. We have some terrific people to come.”
The president-elect predicted that he will not have to resort to using executive powers to advance his agenda, saying that he expects bipartisan support of many of his proposals, including “maybe even healthcare.”
“We’re going to be rescinding executive orders, but I don’t think we’re going to have to use many executive orders because we have Congress who is going to go along with things. I think a lot of Democrats are going to join the train, if you want to know the truth,” Trump said, citing relationships he’s developed over the years from being active in politics.
