Rep. Horsford to receive post-heart surgery care from doctors in Las Vegas

{mosads}Horsford will receive care from cardiac doctors in Las Vegas and is expected to make a full recovery from the surgery, the congressman’s office said Friday.

About 10 days earlier Horsford underwent heart surgery following the discovery of a hereditary heart condition that required an immediate six-way bypass surgery.

“I want to especially thank my wife Sonya and medical providers who gave me the strength and confidence to face this surgery head-on and to take action toward my recovery so that I am at 100% very soon,” Horsford said in a statement Friday. “I will be an even stronger advocate for every single person’s right to affordable, quality, integrated health care.”

Horsford sits on the Homeland Security, and Oversight and Government Reform committees. He was elected in 2012 to Nevada’s 4th congressional district, which was created from the 2010 Census.
