Two CNN commentators who battled throughout the 2016 election ended the year with a kiss.
CNN’s Van Jones and Jeffrey Lord wished viewers a happy new year as Jones kissed Lord on the cheek on New Year’s Eve.
Jones was a strong supporter of Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton, while Lord supported Donald Trump throughout the Republican’s successful presidential campaign.
“2016 is over I’m so happy,” Jones said, before asking Lord for a prediction for 2017.
{mosads}“It’s the same prediction I had for 2016: Donald Trump will be the next president of the United States,” Lord said.
“Ugh, I know, I know,” Jones replied.
“But Van, there’s one thing, I think, we can agree on, buddy,” Lord said. “Happy new year Kathy and Anderson!”
Jones then planted a kiss on Lord’s cheek.
CNN produced a New Year’s Eve special on Saturday night as Anderson Cooper and Kathy Griffin rang in 2017.
