New Mexico store under fire for racist Obama signs
A convenience store in New Mexico is under fire as residents call for it to remove dozens of controversial signs targeting President Obama, Muslims and African-Americans, several media outlets reported.
For years, the store has displayed signs reading “Kill Obama” and “Obama & Muslims not welcome here.”
The Mayhill Convenience Store in Mayhill, N.M., also has signs in its front window targeting Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton and NFL player Colin Kaepernick.
A former employee at the store told Albuquerque station KOB that the owner of the shop tells passersby to stop and read the signs on display. Some signs compared Obama to toilet paper, and one read “Obama loves the USA like O.J. Simpson loved Nicole.”

KOB reported the store is currently up for sale for $359,000.
{mosads}Members of the community have taken to Facebook to condemn the store’s owner and demand he remove the signs.
The Council on American-Islamic Relations, the largest Muslim-rights group in the country, wrote a statement on Saturday urging the store owner to remove the signs.
“While everyone has the First Amendment right to free speech – even offensive speech – we urge the store’s owner to remove the sign in the interest of common decency and of our nation’s unity at a time of increasing divisions,” said Ibrahim Hooper, national communications director, in the statement.
