Melania Trump appears on Vanity Fair Mexico cover as ‘la nueva Jackie Kennedy’
First lady Melania Trump is on the cover of Vanity Fair Mexico’s latest issue, even as her husband expresses frustration with both the magazine and the nation.
The cover of the February issue, which calls her the next Jackie Kennedy, promises details on Melania Trump’s “intriguing” past and her life with President Trump.

{mosads}Melania Trump did not do the interview for Vanity Fair Mexico — the original interview and photo shoot appeared in an April 2016 issue of GQ Magazine, as ABC News reported. GQ and Vanity Fair Mexico are both under corporate parent Conde Nast.
The release of the February cove comes one day after Mexican President Enrique Peña Nieto canceled a planned meeting with President Trump.
The Mexican leader’s decision follows Trump’s announcement that he will move forward with plans to build a wall on the U.S.-Mexico border, insisting that he will force Mexico to pay for it.
Though Peña Nieto tweeted that he had “informed the White House” that he would not attend the meeting with Trump, the president told GOP lawmakers at a retreat on Thursday that they had “agreed to cancel our planned meeting.”
Esta mañana hemos informado a la Casa Blanca que no asistiré a la reunión de trabajo programada para el próximo martes con el @POTUS.

Escalating tensions with Mexico and the news of the canceled meeting follow Trump’s signing Wednesday of two executive orders on immigration, one of which will direct federal agencies to begin construction on the southern wall with Mexico.
Last month, Trump mocked the subscription numbers for Vanity Fair as “way down, big trouble, dead” after the magazine published a scathing review of Trump Grill in Manhattan. The publication spun Trump’s disdain into a badge of honor, calling itself the “magazine Trump doesn’t want you to read,” and bragging that his attack led to an unprecedented surge in subscriptions.
