Melania Trump to move to DC at end of school year: aide

First lady Melania Trump will move to Washington, D.C., at the end of the school year, CNN is reporting.

Reports surfaced Wednesday that the first lady might not be moving to the White House at all. But a spokeswoman for the first lady denied the report, according to CNN.

“That report is not true,” the spokeswoman said.

A  senior adviser to the first lady later confirmed that Trump would be moving to Washington at the end of the school year.

{mosads}”Mrs. Trump will be moving to D.C. and settling in to the White House at the end of the school year, splitting her time between New York and D.C. in the meantime,” Stephanie Winston Wolkoff said.

“Mrs. Trump is honored to serve this country and is taking the role and responsibilities of first lady very seriously. It has only been a short time since the inauguration and the first lady is going to go about her role in a pragmatic and thoughtful way that is unique and authentic to her.”

In November, reports surfaced that the first lady and her 10-year-old son, Barron, would not move to the White House immediately.

Instead, the two planned to stay in New York City so Barron could finish out the school year.

When President Trump was asked last month about whether he was lonely not having his wife in the White House, he said, “No, because I end up working longer. And that’s OK.”

Melania Trump on Wednesday announced that Lindsay Reynolds will serve as her chief of staff, managing the first lady’s day-to-day schedule.
