Aussie official blasts US ‘gun culture’
{mosads}“The U.S. has chosen the pathway of illogical policy with regard to guns,” Tim Fischer told NBC News. “They cannot expect not to have any criticism of it worldwide.”
“I am angry because it is corrupting the world, this gun culture of the United States,” he added.
Chris Lane died last week after three teenagers shot him down while he was out jogging. The teens said they killed him because they were bored.
Fischer’s criticism comes as gun control efforts are languishing on Capitol Hill. The Senate has abandoned the issue since the background checks bill in April garnered just 54 votes. Sixty were needed to break a filibuster and move forward to a final vote.
