The $30,000 buy represents the first outside spending against McConnell in the GOP primary. The group has endorsed McConnell’s Republican challenger, Matt Bevin.

{mosads}It also points to McConnell’s role in cutting a “backroom deal” with the White House to raise the debt ceiling, and his efforts to “undermine” a conservative movement to defund President Obama’s healthcare overhaul.

McConnell released internal polling last week that shows him with a substantial lead over Bevin. According to the survey, McConnell has 68 percent support among Republican primary voters, compared to Bevin’s 21 percent.
