Michael Moore: Town hall outcry ‘makes the Tea Party look like preschool’

Liberal filmmaker Michael Moore is praising the protesters demonstrating at Republican lawmakers’ town halls.

“They are there because they love this country. And they are coming out. And you know what, you’re just seeing really the first week of these town halls,” Moore said during an interview on MSNBC Wednesday night.

“This makes the Tea Party look like pre-school. I mean seriously.”

Republican lawmakers across the country have been met with crowds of protesters at their town halls in recent days.

{mosads}Liberal activists have been marching on the streets of the hometowns of these GOP members and attending meetings and town halls with constituents.

President Trump earlier this week referred to the protesters as “so-called angry crowds.”

“The so-called angry crowds in home districts of some Republicans are actually, in numerous cases, planned out by liberal activists,” the president tweeted. “Sad!”

Rep. Tom McClintock (R-Calif.) and Rep. Gus Bilirakis (R-Fla.) both encountered protesters at recent gatherings in their home districts.

House Oversight Committee Chairman Jason Chaffetz (R-Utah) earlier this month faced a group of demonstrators in his district as protesters called into question his treatment of President Trump.

Moore has been an outspoken critic of the president. On Tuesday, he released a 10-step guide for resisting Trump and his policies, calling on followers to “make Trump toast again.”

He urged followers to call their members of Congress daily and personally visit their district office each month.
