Obama aide Dan Pfeiffer hospitalized twice last week

President Obama’s chief strategist, Dan Pfeiffer, was hospitalized twice last week due to “stroke-like symptoms,” the White House confirmed to The New York Times="line-height:>

“We are happy and relieved to have Dan back at work full-time,” White House spokeswoman Amy Brundage told The Times. “He’s feeling better, listening to his doctors and focused on helping implement the president’s very full domestic and foreign policy agenda.”

Pfeiffer, 37, first became ill during a dinner on Sept. 4 at a restaurant in downtown Washington. He then checked into George Washington University hospital to undergo tests, and was monitored overnight, Brundage said. 

He returned to work the next day, she said, but then experienced similar symptoms again. Pfeiffer was readmitted to the hospital for almost two days, and was released Sept. 7. 

{mosads}Obama’s aide then prepared White House Chief of Staff Denis McDonough for the round of interviews he did on the Sunday morning political talk shows regarding Syria. 

The report says Pfeiffer has been at work all week, and White House doctors have been monitoring his blood pressure. 

High blood pressure, The New York Times added, runs in his family. 

Pfeiffer is one of the few aides who have stuck around with Obama since 2007, when he first ran for president. His title is assistant to the president and senior adviser. He first joined the White House as communications director.
