Trump’s ex-wife writing memoir on raising their children: report

President Trump’s ex-wife Ivana is set to publish a memoir in September about her experience raising the couple’s three children, the Associated Press reported Wednesday.

The book, called “Raising Trump,” will be largely “non-political,” its publisher Gallery Books said in a statement. Ivana support the real estate mogul during his 2016 presidential bid, and the book is unlikely to be critical of him.

“As her former husband takes his place as the 45th president of the United States, his children have also been thrust into the media spotlight – but it is Ivana who raised them and proudly instilled in them what she believes to be the most important life lessons: loyalty, honesty, integrity and drive,” the statement says.

The book will also discuss her “childhood in communist Czechoslovakia, her escape from the regime and relocation to New York, her whirlwind romance, and her great success as a businesswoman,” according to the publisher’s statement to the AP.

Ivana, Trump’s first wife, is the mother of his three oldest children, Donald Jr., Eric and Ivanka. Donald Jr. and Eric took over Trump’s business empire in January, and Ivanka is considered one of the president’s closest confidantes and is said to have considerable sway over her father. Her husband, Jared Kushner, is a senior adviser to the president.

Ivana and Trump were married in 1977 and divorced 15 years, later amid the real estate mogul’s affair with actress Marla Maples. Maples later became Trump’s second wife, and the two divorced in 1999. Trump married his current wife, first lady Melania Trump, in 2005.
