Man killed at Paris airport after trying to take solider’s gun
Soldiers at Orly Airport in Paris France, shot and killed a man early Saturday after he attempted to wrestle and steal a rifle of another officer, The Associated Press reported.
According to the report, the attacker, who remains unidentified, assaulted three Air Force soldiers patrolling the airport, and attempted to take hold of one soldier’s rifle. The two other soldiers opened fire. The officer attacked by the man reportedly suffered no injuries.
{mosads} Approximately 3,000 travelers were evacuated from the airport, the second largest in Paris behind Charles de Gaulle, where a number of flights were diverted following the incident.
Police have not yet provided a motive of the attacker. However, The Associated Press was told by the Paris prosecutor’s office that the attacker was a 39-year-old male with a history of robbery and drug offenses, and was not on any database as a threat to national security.
