Conway on Women’s March: ‘I’d rather act than talk’
Top White House advisor Kellyanne Conway says she didn’t oppose the Women’s March on Washington held in opposition to President Trump, but that she’d “rather do than march.”
Conway sought to explain her brand of “conservative feminism” in an interview with New York Magazine published Saturday.
“I don’t object to other people marching at all — you know, my friends were there,” she said. “But I’d rather do than march; I’d rather act than talk.”
{mosads}During the interview, she also described “conservative feminism” as “softer,” “less anti-male” and “less pro-abortion.”
The Women’s March on Washington took place the day after Trump’s inauguration, drawing an estimated 500,000 people to D.C. Sister protests across the country and globally drew millions in all.
The peaceful protest, which yielded no arrests, started as a Facebook post and became an anti-Trump event whose mission statement cited the “rhetoric of the past election cycle” as a call for unified grassroots change.
