Sunday shows preview: Healthcare, White House budget in spotlight

The Trump administration and GOP leaders are taking the full-court press for their healthcare plan on the Sunday show circuit this week, pitching their plan to repeal and replace ObamaCare.

Secretary of Health and Human Services Tom Price is slated to appear ABC’s “This Week” as well as CNN’s “State of the Union.” The White House has said that it will support the GOP bill despite harsh criticism from the Democrats and some conservatives.

{mosads}President Trump’s budget will also be hot topic this weekend, with White House budget chief Mick Mulvaney appearing on CBS’s “Face the Nation” and NBC’s “Meet the Press.”
 
The president’s ambitious budget blueprint seeks to dramatically reduce the size of government by eliminating some 19 federal agencies.
 
The budget plan was harshly criticized by the Democrats who will be eager to build a formidable opposition to the president’s proposal.
 
Here’s this week’s full lineup
ABC’s “This Week”: Secretary of Health and Human Services Tom Price will be on the show. Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.) and Reps. Joaquin Castro (D-Texas) and Will Hurd (R-Texas) will also appear.
 
CBS’s “Face the Nation”: White House budget director Mick Mulvaney will appear on the program. Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) and House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) are also expected to be on the program.
CNN’s “State of the Union”: Price is expected to be on the show as well as Sen. Tom Cotton (R-Ark.).

“Fox News Sunday”: Speaker Paul Ryan (R-Wis.) will appear on the network. The program will also feature the chairman of the House Intelligence Committee, Rep. Devin Nunes (R-Calif.).

 
NBC’s “Meet the Press”: Mulvaney will also make an appearance on “Meet the Press” along with Rep. Adam Schiff (Calif.), the top Democrat on the House Intelligence Committee.
